Scholarships

The Whistler Writing Society offers an IBPoC Scholarship for emerging or experienced writers. The scholarship is for writers or storytellers who are Indigenous, Black or a person of colour (IBPoC) and are living in the Sea to Sky Corridor, from Lions Bay to Lillooet.  For more information about the Whistler Writer in Residence Program, click here.

The Scholarship offers the successful applicant a choice of participation in the Whistler Writer in Residence program, and/or an all-access Festival Pass to the 2023 Whistler Writers Festival.

IBPoC scholarship applicants should submit a paragraph outlining why they would like to participate in the program and a short description of the writing they are working on to: Writers@WhistlerWritersFest.com.

The program is now open for applications, and the deadline is Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

The IBPoC Scholarship is made possible through generous funding assistance by the Whistler Community Foundation.
